Mine Supervisors

In this position, you will be responsible for day to day operations and direct supervision of your own crew and deployment of materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in your own area of responsibility. You will have 8 to 10 years related mining experience along with your Supervisory Common Core. You will possess strong organizational, leadership and computers skills. Chief Mine Engineer

The Chief Mine Engineer will ensure that the Company’s  mineral assets are engineered at optimum rates of return for the Company and that project capital is optimized, prioritizing projects, budget and schedules.  This will require that the incumbent work in co-operation with mine and project management.  The incumbent must be capable of hands-on leadership and planning.

The key role is in developing unified and consolidated strategic long term plans for the site operations and the leading discipline for conceptual, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. Working with a core team you will be responsible for life-of-mine planning, engineering quality controls and integrity of the plans and planning process. the role includes the short term mine planning process, production forecast evaluations, annual budgeting and production performance measurement; focused on ounces produced not tons, cost savings rather than cost management, ore quality preservation initiatives, resource optimization influence, equipment utilization and manpower distribution optimization, capital expenditure validation and reconciliation.

Mine Superintendent

You will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of the production crews responsible for the operation of the mine and related facilities in accordance with company objectives and procedures. A high degree of safety awareness and leadership is crucial. A post-secondary diploma as a mining technologist or related degree and 15 years’ underground mining experience in a supervisory role, supported by excellent team building and communication skills is essential.

Site Cost Accountant

Lake Shore Gold Corporation is seeking a fully qualified professional Cost Accountant to provide services to site operations. You will be responsible for the preparation of month end accruals, allocations, journal entries, cost reports, ad hoc projects as well as analysis of monthly financial performance, reviewing A/P batches, assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and interim forecasts and month- end general ledger reconciliations as required. You will also be responsible to ensure the accuracy of operating and capital mine-site accounting transactions for the purpose of providing management with monthly and year end cost statements in a timely manner.

The incumbent typically has a degree in accounting, has obtained or is working towards a professional designation with 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.

Senior Exploration Geologist

Lake Shore Gold Inc., conducting business as Tahoe Resources Canada, is looking for a Senior Exploration Geologist to work on an exciting new advanced gold project in the Matheson area. This position will work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to advance a potential Open Pit project through a Pre-feasibility study. The successful candidate will lead a team of geologists and technicians involved with the definition drilling program for project, along with exploration on the larger property package.

University degree in Geoscience required with 12 years’ experience in a gold exploration or Gold Mine environment.  Previous experience with directing and managing exploration budgets and programs, 43-101 report writing, identification of exploration targets through geological interpretations along with exposure to a 3D modeling software (Gemcom preferred) and ArcGIS (Arcview).  Membership or eligible for membership as a professional geologist in the province of Ontario is required.

Energy Manager (Mining Industry experience)

Lake Shore Gold Corp’s Timmins operations involve two operating underground gold mines located in the century-old Timmins Gold Camp in Northern Ontario. The Timmins West Complex is located 18 kilometers west of Timmins. On the east side of Timmins, the Bell Creek Complex hosts the Company’s milling facility as well as the Bell Creek Mine.

Lake Shore Gold Corp has an opportunity for an Energy Manager, based out of Timmins, Canada. The role of an Energy Manager involves facilitating energy conservation, by identifying and implementing various options for saving energy, leading awareness programs, and monitoring energy consumption for the company’s Timmins operations.

Senior Mine Geologist

The Senior Mine Geologist to assist in organizing and carrying out mining activities in the Bell Creek area. Reporting to the Chief Geologist, the successful candidate would be responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of production geologists in daily grade control activities, design and implementation of diamond drill programs, and liaising with production and engineering personnel in the mine planning functions.

He/She would be required to possess strong mentoring and leadership skills, and a thorough knowledge of the Geologic process. This would include experience with underground mapping and sampling techniques, diamond drill core logging and sampling, QA/QC assay database protocols,   and geological interpretation in plan, section and 3-D space.  Experience with Mineral Resource estimation techniques would be a definite asset.

Applicants must have attained their B.SC in Geology, have their P.Geo in good standing, be capable of working independently, maintain high safety standards and should have 5-7 years’ experience of combined exploration and production geology  preferably in an underground narrow vein gold mining work environment. Experience with Gemcom software, GIS software, Reserve/Resource block modeling, and deep hole drilling is an asset.

Mill Surface/Tailings Operations Supervisor

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the tailings storage facility (TSF), construction of new TSF’s, and surface operations. Surface operations includes but are not restricted to activities such as road maintenance, screening plant, and snow removal. The person in this position will report to the mill superintendent but will work closely with many parties such as the milling group, environmental group, tailing truck drivers, construction contractors and the engineer of record for the TSF’s.

A minimum of five years related tailings construction experience and project management with three to five years in a supervisory capacity is required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate, coach and motivate employees is required as well as strong leadership skills and good computer skills. A post-secondary diploma as an engineering technologist or related engineering degree would be considered an asset.

Contract Geologists

Lake Shore Gold is looking for Contract Geologists to assist with their Underground and Surface Exploration drill programs in the Timmins area.

University degree in Geoscience required with 1-5 years experience in a gold exploration or Gold Mine environment preferred.
