Governance and Guidelines
As a major precious metals producer, Tahoe is committed to social responsibility standards described in the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights and the Equator Principles. In combination with our Human Rights, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Ethics Policies, these international guidelines are integrated into all facets of our business. Tahoe’s Guatemala security providers have signed the International Code of Conduct for Private Security—a multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to increase accountability in the private security sector by employing security standards based on international humanitarian law. The Company is also a member of Business for Social Responsibility, serves on the CSR Committee of the International Bar Association and participates in a joint industry-non-profit working group to promote effective implementation of the UN Guiding Principles in the business community.
